WHERE: Euston, Suffolk

Coming this July to the East of England is a high-quality Gravel race on the historic Euston Estate in Suffolk, not far from London and Cambridge. Featuring a 66km race over six laps of a fast, flowing 11km circuit, riders will race entirely off-road on a mix of woodland tracks, gravel roads, open estate paths, and farm trails - all within a fully closed, private venue.

Two races are available: Open/Men/Female/Juniors and a separate Masters event, with chip timing and live results bringing a competitive edge to this grassroots race which gives the opportunity for all levels to race against the best on a circuit around the scenic estate.

Expect a welcoming event village with food, drink, and music, plus on-site camping options for those looking to make a weekend of it.

There will be a bike jumble taking place in the event village, with a £10 fee for sellers which can be applied for here in advance or by cash on the day and free entry for buyers.

The course is fully signposted with a dedicated feed zone every lap. Whether you're racing to win or just out to test yourself on a premium gravel course, this is a summer highlight not to be missed.

Got A Question?

What is Sherpa Gravel Euston?

Sherpa Gravel Euston is a lapped gravel cycling event set within the private estates of Euston Hall in Suffolk. The course takes riders off-road through a variety of terrain including gravel paths, dirt tracks, grass trails, and woodland sections. With exclusive access to normally closed grounds, it offers a unique and scenic riding experience.

Do I need a gravel bike to take part?

Not necessarily. While gravel bikes are ideal for this type of terrain, cyclocross and mountain bikes are also suitable. The route features mixed surfaces, so a bike with wider tyres and good off-road capability will be most comfortable.

What race can I ride?

The Open Race is just that – open to all, whether you’re an elite, masters, junior or amateur rider, and regardless of gender.

If you’re aged 40 or over, you qualify as a masters rider and can enter the Masters Race, the Open Race, or both if you’re up for the challenge!

The Masters Race is specifically for riders aged 40+, with separate classifications and prizes for Masters 50+ and Masters 60+, so you’ll be racing alongside others in your age group.

We welcome all riders who want to take part in a great day of gravel racing – whether you’re chasing a podium or just riding for the love of it!

Do I need a racing licence to take part?

No licence is required to enter Sherpa Gravel Euston. The event is insured for public liability, but we strongly recommend that all riders have their own personal accident and third-party liability insurance, especially if you’re racing competitively or riding regularly.

Can I ride the circuit beforehand?

Unfortunately, pre-riding the full route ahead of the event day isn’t possible, as the course passes through private land and a working farm. However, there will be a window on the morning of the event from 8:00 to 10:00 when the course will be open for a recon lap. This will give riders a chance to familiarise themselves with the terrain before the start.

Is the event timed or competitive?

Yes, the event is chip-timed for those who want to challenge themselves. However, riders of all levels are welcome – whether you’re racing or just enjoying the day at your own pace, with all riders finishing on the lap of the leader.

What should I bring on the ride?

A helmet (compulsory), spare tubes or sealant, multi-tool, water, snacks or energy food, and clothing suited to the weather. A GPS device or phone with the route loaded is highly recommended.

Will there be a feed zone?

There will be a designated support area near the event village, not far from the start/finish. This is a space where riders’ own helpers or support crew can hand out nutrition or hydration if needed, and keep spare equipment on hand. It’s not a fully stocked feed zone provided by the organisers, so please plan accordingly.

Can I camp at the event?

Yes, the camping is available on-site the night before the event. It can be booked as an add-on when entering the event, or afterwards (if space
remains). The on-site camping spot is self sufficient and located close to the start/finish area so you’ll wake up in the heart of the action, costing £25 per pitch (1 tent or vehicle). There will be portaloos which are accessible but no showers or electricity. Both tents and campervans are welcome. If you have already entered and not selected camping then
this can be purchased separately here.

        Are spectators allowed?

Absolutely – family and friends are welcome to come along and enjoy the atmosphere. There will be designated spectator areas near the event village and start/finish line, as well as food and drink available on site.

        How do I enter?

You can sign up via the registration page on our website. Early bird pricing and group options may be available – see the entry page for full details. Please see the T&C’s for further details.

Will there be photos of the event?

Yes! Event photographers will be capturing the action throughout the day, including on-course shots and finish line moments. Photos will be made available after the event—keep an eye on your email and our social media channels for details on how to access them.

How do I get to the event?

Full directions and a location map will be included in the rider information pack sent out before the event.

Are there any age limits to race?

Competitors must be at least 16 years of age on the 27 July 2025 to compete in the open race. And under 18s will need to provide a parental consent form which can be found here

Is there any availability for trade stands in the event village?

For any enquiries about trade stands or catering vehicles for the event village please contact us at hello@sherpa-performance.com

How does it work if I want to sell at the bike jumble?

The bike jumble will be from 9:00 am till 15:00, with the site open from 08:00 for you to set up, which will be located in a great place near the racing action and event village. You can sell any cycling goods here from vintage parts to bits and bobs you have laying around. The sellers fee will be £10 which can be paid for here. You will need to bring your own table as there will be no tables or chairs provided. Buyers entry will be free.
