WHERE: Colchester, Essex

Returning for the third time is the Sherpa Performance Stage Race, which brings back two exciting stage races in and around Colchester, Essex:

1. National Elite/1st /2nd /3rd Stage Race – for Elite, 1st , 2nd or 3rd category riders and Juniors of these categories.

2. Regional 3/4/Masters 50+ Stage Race – open to riders in categories 3, 4 (including eligible juniors) and Masters of any category aged 50+.

Both events are open to females of any categories.

Each stage race consists of four stages across two days, offering competitive racing, British Cycling points per stage and for the overall will be available, with leader jerseys for the general classification and sprint classifications. The Regional race will have an overall prize for the 1st Master aged 50+/Day licences are available for non–British Cycling members – contact us for more information.

Entry Fees (Tiered)

Early Bird: £95 until 5th June 2026
Standard: £110 from 6th June to 12th July 2026
Late Entry: £130 from 13th July to 28th July 2026

Stages 1 & 2 - Circuit Races

On the first day of racing, each stage race will have 2 60 minute circuit races around the 1-mile Colchester Northern Gateway Sports park. The purpose-built circuit is one of the longest cycle tracks in the UK and will produce aggressive racing, with each stage a different direction around the course.

Regional Stage Race

• Stage 1: Criterium - 09:00 (1 hr)
• Stage 2: Criterium - 13:30 (1 hr)

National Stage Race

• Stage 1: Criterium - 10:30 (1 hr)
• Stage 2: Criterium – 15:00 (1 hr)

Stage 3 - Time Trial

On the Sunday, the third stage will be a 6km road bike only time trial on a different course from previous years on the Abberton Reservoir, which could be the difference between winning or losing general classification places.

Stage 4 - Road Race

Final stages of both stage races will involve a road race around the Birch Circuit which is the same course as used in both 2024 and 2025, and is used in the Jock Wadley Memorial event each March.

National Stage Race

• Stage 4: Road race - 14:00 (11 laps: 127km / 79 mi)
